Former Makerere University Researcher Dr. Stella Nyanzi on Wednesday told court that she lost her baby in Luzira prison where she has been on remand since last year.
Nyanzi was appearing before High Court judge Justice Lydia Mugambe for the hearing of a case she filed against Makerere University.
She accuses the institution of refusal to re-instate her on her job yet they went ahead and sacked her alongside other 45 academic staff.
Nyanzi told court that she suffered a miscarriage while at Luzira prison and suffers from hyper tension.
With a shaved head, Nyanzi told the judge she had been admitted to the prison’s sick bay.
She was thus unable to get in touch with her lawyer Isaac Ssemakadde to swear a supporting affidavit in her case.
The lawyer asked court to adjourn to February 19th, 2019 so they can prepare the required documents.
Nyanzi has been on remand at Luzira prison since November last year on charges of cyber harassment and offensive communication against President Museveni and his dead mother Esteri Kokundeka.
