Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine has released the video for his new “national anthem” titled “Tiliyambala Engule” [we will wear victors’ crowns].
He launched the song on 31 December 2018 at Lubiri palace in Mengo where he reportedly made the Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II “shed tears of emotion”.
Currently trending on YouTube, the high definition [HD] video has 267,679 views, 802 likes, 41 dislikes and 2,875 comments in three days.
The song features Bobi Wine, Nubia Li, King Saha, Pr. Wilson Bugembe, Dr. Hilderman, Irene Namatovu, Irene Ntale, among other musicians.
When the struggle is over,
We shall wear the victor’s crown.
We shall walk with swag in the new Uganda.
The song which manifests hope for a new Uganda features politicians like Bugiri MP Asuman Basalirwa, singer Ronald Mayinga, the common man, boda boda men, traffic officers who all work together towards a better Uganda.
The song condemns land grabbing, discrimination, teargas, impunity, corruption and bribery, heavy taxes, poor education system, nepotism and election malpractice.
In the new Uganda, which he calls the Promised Land, all you need a national identity card to speak for yourself.
Soldiers won’t harass the people because “people power” will have won. Power will be in the hands of the people, there will be justice and no more gun-rule.
Pastor Bugembe previously appeared in the Tubonga Nawe song which was a campaign song for President Museveni in 2016.
But in this song, Bugembe calls for unity between those wearing yellow with those putting on red—saying “we are one people”.
Farmers will find market for their produce, as sung by King Saha who also featured in Tubonga Nawe song.
Hospitals will be built and stocked with medicine so that no more women die in child labour, as sung by Irene Ntale.

The video which was on Tuesday posted by Bobi Wine on his Facebook and YouTube pages has been widely shared on various social media platforms.
