Woman strangled at Clock Tower, guard shoots self in Ntinda

Police on Friday retrieved a decomposing body of a woman from a bush at Clock Tower in the capital Kampala.

According to Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, police got a tip about a body dumped in the bushes at Base Zone near the railway line.

Police visited the scene and the body was identified to be of a one Sylvia, a Karimojong woman suspected to have been raped and strangled.

The body was taken for post-mortem at City Mortuary Mulago.

Relatedly, police is investigating the circumstances under which a security guard, Charles Okene, shot himself in Bukoto II parish, Nakawa Division.

Okene, a guard attached to Rock Security services, was guarding together with his other colleague at Atlantis Elegance Apartment located on Plot 3 Kimera Close in Ntinda.

He allegedly shot himself on the neck on wee hours of Monday. His body was taken to Mulago hospital for post-mortem.
