Forum for Democratic Change [FDC] party has lost its first Deputy Secretary Defence and Security official, Salim Angoliga.
Angoliga, a confidant of Dr Kizza Besigye’s died Friday morning at his home in Kawempe, Kampala.
He has struggled with sickness for about two years, said FDC deputy secretary general, Harold Kaija.
He was repeatedly admitted at Nsambya Hospital but finally Allah called him to rest today at 1am.
Kaija said burial will take place tomorrow, Saturday in Yumbe District.
Mulindwa Walid Lubega, the FDC National Youth League Chairman, said the late Angoliga is a founder Member of FDC Party and former FDC Parliamentary candidate for Aringa County South Constituency.
“We shall always miss his wise counsel especially in security matters. He has indeed been one of the building block of FDC and as well as the struggle for change.”
“It’s unfortunate that he has passed on without witnessing the change he so much worked for. It will be the task of us who are still living to actualise what our elder Mr. Angoliga stood for.”
There were Jannazah prayers this afternoon after Jumah at Mulago Mosque after which the body would be taken to Yumbe.
