Busoga wants Kyabazinga to marry Miss Africa Abenakyo

Kyabazinga meeting Abenakyo

The prime minister of Busoga kingdom, Dr. Joseph Muvawala, says the kingdom wants the Kyabazinga to marry the reigning Miss Uganda and Miss World Africa Quiin Abenakyo.

The Kyabazinga of Busoga, Gabula Nadiope William Kadhumbula IV was supportive of Abenakyo’s dreams while she chased for the world beauty crown.

According to available pictures, Kyabazinga met the model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Uganda 2018.

She later went on and represented Uganda at Miss World 2018 in China and was crowned Miss World Africa 2018.

Born 1996 (age 22 years), in Kampala, Abenakyo just attended the official coronation dinner, a day or so back, held at Visun Royal Yacht Hotel in Sanya China.

Queen of Busoga Kingdom?

The Kampala Sun, a Vision Group tabloid, quoted Busoga premier Muvawala‏ saying they want Abenakyo to become the queen of the kingdom located in eastern Uganda.

Kampala Sun wrote a screaming headline: “WE WANT KYABAZINGA TO MARRY QUIIN – PRIME MINISTER” in the December 14, edition of the newspaper.

“If everything goes to plan, Miss World Africa, Quinn Abenakyo will fly from China straight to Prince Gabula’s Palace where she will become a Queen consort (Inhebantu),” the tabloid emphasised.

“The Busoga king just celebrated 30 years and his subjects wouldn’t have thought of a better present. IT is still wishful thinking,” said the newspaper.

Premier Muvawala‏ was among those who on December 8 took to social media to praise the sexy goddess of Busoga kingdom for putting Uganda on the world map.

“Quiin Abenakyo has already won Miss World 2018 Africa. She is among the top 5 finalist and now eyeing Miss Universe….a blessing to Busoga and Uganda at large,” Muvawala tweeted.

Kyabazinga on the same day used his official twitter account [@KingGabulaIV] and said: “Our daughter finishes among the top 5 and is crowned Miss World Africa, Abenakyo is also the World’s 2nd runner-up in popular vote. Congratulations to you Quiin Abenakyo, Busoga is proud of you.”

On December 2, the King further tweeted: “So proud of you Quinn Abenakyo    #MissWorld2018 #Uganda.”

A tweep, Benard Yiga, says Abenakyo also got blessings from “Isebantu” [father of the people] “probably why she made it third in Miss World 2018 and being crowned Miss World Africa for that matter!”

Reactions to the projected marriage

Abenakyo’s parents Charles Ssembeera and Alice Kyamulesire who hail from Mayuge District, say she graduated with a degree in business computing, from Makerere University Business School in November 2018.

They want her to pursue her dreams because they believe she is a winner.

Former Bukedde TV presenter Fyona Kirabo said she had started a fundraising campaign among Ugandans aiming at awarding Abenakyo for making Uganda proud.

Some Ugandans have made social media statements in relation to the said marriage between the Kyabazinga and Abenakyo.

Omulangila Muyende Kennedy-Nicholous Mutyaba: So primitive and awkward. So when another Musoga goes ahead of her and wins miss world and miss universe, the king will get a second wife or chase Quiin away and replace her with the new catch. And what happens to all his current girlfriends?

Nora Ataro: Quinn is much better focusing on her dream and career than getting frustrated by a “mere traditional leader”. There is no qualifications for being a traditional leader.

Bindia Kenneth Petre Pike: Please, you guys are trying to SHUN the ongoing campaign of bringing back the honour and glory of BUSOGA KINGDOM Busoga Yaiffe but I want to assure, watch the space….. things have just started, No matter the crude oil you pour unto us, we are from the east and not east but the wise men from the east, I want you to consider the domain of the eagle and the lion…. and why GOD identified Himself with those two and why the Bible says the Wise men from the EAST….# Proud To Be a Musoga.

Balance the boat

Bindia echoed a funny observation that has dominated social media, claiming that the country needs to “balance the boat” because all “good things” seem to come from eastern Uganda alone.

“Did you know that the first Doctor in Uganda was a Musoga, first Engineer was a Musoga, first female vice president in Africa was a Musoga, first female speaker of parliament in Uganda is a Musoga, first Miss Uganda/Miss World Africa in the top 5 winner #MissWorld is a Musoga”.

Busoga’s giants: Kalikwani Abyasaali, the first veterinary doctor in East Africa; James Zikusoka, Uganda’s first civil engineer; Uganda’s first medical doctor, Dr Kadaga Kisadha; first female Vice President in Africa, Specioza Naigaga Wandira Kazibwe; Uganda’s first female speaker, Rebecca Kadaga and Kampala’s first African city engineer Alfred Luba.
