A post-mortem report released by Mulago hospital says businessman and former rally driver, Charles Muhangi, died from a cardiac arrest.
Muhangi was found dead in his bed room Thursday morning by his son at his home in Lower Mawanga in Buziga, Makindye Division.
His brother Elad Munanura, told Uganda Radio Network [URN] that post-mortem results indicate Muhangi suffered a heart attack.
The post-mortem was carried out by a team of pathologists led by police director of medical services Moses Byaruhanga.
Munanura says that a family doctor, whom he declined to reveal, was also part of the medical team that examined Muhangi’s body to establish cause of death.
Munanura told URN that family members agreed that some samples of the body be taken to the government analytical laboratory to carry out a toxicological analysis.
Muhangi’s wife Patience Muhangi told police that he came back home at around 2am after spending an evening with fellow businessman, Charles Karangwa at different spots including Cafe Javas and Guvnor.
According to Karangwa, before parting ways, Muhangi placed some documents in his vehicle, saying he was rushing home.
Karangwa was to meet Muhangi on Thursday at 10am at the Qualicel bus terminal head office.
Muhangi recently won a suit to retain Qualicel bus terminal after tussling it out with businessman Drake Lubega for years in court.
