Museveni setting trap using dialogue, says Mzee Maate

Mzee Saulo Maate, FDC chairman Kasese

Mzee Saulo Maate, the Forum for Democratic Change [FDC] Chairman for Kasese District, believes the whole idea of the national dialogue is a ruse by President Museveni.

Mzee Maate was Thursday addressing the FDC Special National Council 2018 held at the party headquarters in Najjanankumbi-Kampala.

“FDC should boycott any kind of dialogue because those are the tricks of Mr. Museveni to hold Ugandans hostage in hope of something better coming their way,” Mzee Maate revealed.

He added: “I would like to re affirm that Kasese is more stronger and committed to the FDC than before.”

Mzee Maate said in the next election, they will “keep NRM in the Opposition” not only in Kasese but also greater Rwenzori region.

Speaking at the same meeting, FDC Secretary General Hon. Nathan Nandala Mafabi updated the National Council about the status of the party.

“We have Recruited 145,650 Members in the last one year out standing among them include Hon. Vincent Kyamadidi former MP for Rwampara, Mr. Guma Betukira Gumisiriza former RDC, Virginia Plan Mugyenyi, an educationist and business woman among others,” Mafabi noted.

He said Kaliro was swept by FDC in the last elections for new administrative units, a thing that happened for the first time since inception and under the able leadership of Eng. Patrick Oboi Amuriat.

He also presented on the reconstituted Standing Committees and NEC replacements for the council’s approval.
