EAC games: Uganda parliament beats Tanzania

Uganda is performing fairly at the on-going 9th East African Community [EAC] inter-parliamentary games which kicked off on Friday November 30, in Bujumbura, Burundi.

The first netball match was between Tanzania and Uganda parliament which Uganda won 35-14.

In the first volleyball game of the day, Tanzania beat Uganda by 3 sets to one. Set one-TZ won 26-24; set 2- UG won by 25-23; third set TZ won 25-18 and in final set TZ won 25-13.

The second volleyball game for men, Kenya won the first set 26-24 but Burundi Parliament came from behind to win the match 25-21.

The second netball match saw Kenya beat Burundi 30 -26).

In the first football match, Uganda beat Tanzania 2-1.

The second football game was between hosts Burundi and Kenya. Kenya walloped Burundi 2-0.

In Volleyball (Women), Burundi took revenge on Kenya, beating them by 3 sets to 2.

Participants are drawn from the members countries of the Community. Present are Members of Parliament from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, South Sudan parliaments and the East African Legislative Assembly [EALA].

Hosts Burundi are also taking part in the games that run till 10 December 2018.

The Leader of Opposition in the Ugandan parliament, Betty Aol Ocan with and Susan Nakawuki, the chairperson of the Joint Planning Committee, represented.
