Tanzania won the 2018 Copa Dar es Salaam beach soccer championship at Coco beach on Sunday.
The final result ended 2-1 over Uganda Sand Cranes in a well contested duel.
Yahya Tumbo and an own goal from Uganda’s captain Meddie Kibirige won the day for the hosts.
Uganda’s lone goal was scored by the vice captain Allan Katwe.
In the classification match, Seychelles took third place after a hard fought 4-3 post match penalty win following an 16 goal stalemate with Malawi in normal time.
Last year’s winners Zanzibar combined forces with the hosts to field a stronger team as Tanzania used the tournament as a preparatory measure for the 2018 AFCON beach soccer championship next month in Egypt.
Team Uganda returns home on Tuesday at 2 PM.
