A Ugandan stand-up comedian, comical writer, motivational speaker, demotivational speaker and an entrepreneur, Omukebete is the winner of “NBS The Comic” prize.
Omukebete who calls himself “the UPE product” and the “son of Mama Muke” took home a car, Shs3m and the title of Uganda’s “Next Comedy Star”.
The grand finale of the event sponsored by NBS television was held Sunday at Silver Springs hotel in Bugolobi, outside Kampala.
Innovations lawyer, Silver Kayondo, promised the comedian free legal services while congratulating him for winning the prize.
“On top of what you have won, I am adding you free legal services worth UGX 1,000,000 on all your image rights, brand management, and endorsement contracts. Get in touch with me at your convenience. Keep shining!” Kayondo wrote.
1st Runner Up Uncle Mark walked away with Shs2,000,000.
Other competitions included; the only female act Maggie Da Bwaiserian and Smart Ayokyayokya, a film and TV producer, director at small brothers, stand-up comedian, function mcee, former creative writer “Don’t Mess With Kansiime” show.
The celebrity guest judge was comedy queen Anne Kansiime. Other judges included; Isaac Rucci, one of the most experienced public speakers/MC’s A serial social Entrepreneur; Karitas Karisimbi a TV presenter/producer and comedy King Kenneth Kimuli aka Pablo Yagayo.
The event was attended by NBS CEO Kin Kariisa and Joseph Kigozi, a Chief Strategy Officer Next media Services.
