Police fondles journalists breasts, beats them at Kololo UN office


About five journalists have been beaten and arrested by police while covering a refugees’ demonstration at the United Nations High Commission for Refugees [UNCHR] office in Kololo Kampala.

Uganda Journalists Association [UJA] Secretary for information Ronald Kabuye said five journalists have been affected in this incident including Chris Ssemalamu Ssemakula BBS Terefayina, two record TV journalists, New Vision and KFM journalists respectively.

UJA Secretary General Bayola Moses and Secretary for Labour and Employment, Kiyinji Godfrey, have been sent to rescue them.

Kabuye said by the close of business today UJA executive will come up with the next course of action against the security agencies who have proved to be anti-journalists.

“We condemn these security agencies acts against journalists and this time really action is to be taken,” he said.

According to Kiyingi, officers pulled breasts of female journalists.
