Special Forces Command [SFC] soldiers on Thursday heavily deployed in Kasangati town council where Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine’s home is located.
Police said from Entebbe Airport, they delivered Kyagulanyi safely to his home at Magere, Wakiso District.
“We want to thank Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi for easily cooperating with law enforcement officers at Entebbe airport, who provided him with a chauffeur driven car, escorts and traffic clearance to Magere,” said Ofwono Opondo Executive Director, Uganda Media Centre.
He added: “For avoidance of any doubt Hon. Kyagulanyi did not attempt to resist police request to escort him home.”
The Observer now reports that presidential guards [SFC] were seen patrolling streets in Kasangati.
Bobi Wine was first held at Kasangati police station where he was delivered by the army.
“Police convoy escorted by an APC has just arrived Bobi Wine home! It’s likely that Hon Kuagulanyi will now be blockaded at home till further notice,” opposition fighture Kizza Besigye commented.
He added: “This ghastly violation of Human Rights and political repression has become the norm! Well be back Bobi Wine to our Benghazi!”
Entebbe road blocks
Earlier, SFC staged a roadblock at Abayita Ababiri, near Entebbe town.
They arrested and beat people who were waiting for Bobi Wine.
Only individuals holding passports, flight tickets and or gate pass issued by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), the aviation regulator, were allowed through to the airport.
