Express FC names captain, technical team, 2018 squad

Chairman Kiryowa Kiwanuka registers for his #EquityExpressCard

Express football clubs unveiled the squad which will be used for the 2018/19 season.

They were unveiled by clubs head of technical committee Mr. Alex Munobe during an event when the club leadership headed by Chairman board of directors Mr. Kiryowa Kiwanuka met the funs on Friday at Wankulukuku.

The squad includes:

Goalkeepers; Tony Kyamera, Ronald Mutebi, Matthias Muwanga.

Defenders; Julius Ntambi (Captain), Hamis Batenga, Shafik Nana Kakeeto, Charles Lubega, Charles Mutima Musoke, Arthur Kiggundu, Isaac Mutanga, Disan Galiwango.

Midfielders; Jalil Zimula, Nasir Mbabali, Joel Male, Ibrahim Kayiwa, Davis Mayanja, Badiru Nsubuga, Lawrence Kigonya, John Revita, Billy Nkata, Pius Mbidde.

Forwards; Michael Birungi, Tony Odur, Ruben Kabuye, Eric Kambale.

CLUB CAPTAIN

Defender Julius Ntambi was named club captain by the technical team on Friday.

The defender who joined the club from URA FC in January will be deputized by forwards Tony Odur who joined from Vipers and Michael Birungi who joined from Police FC.

With their experience and maturity the coaches believe they will be able to lead other players and maintain sanity with in the dressing room, on the pitch and off it.

NEW TECHNICAL TEAM

Express Football Club named a new technical team for the 2018/19 season.

This will be headed by Head Coach Kefa Kisala, Assistant Coach Pius Ngabo, Goalkeeping Coach Mubarak Kiberu.

Ibrahim Musa Kinaabi will remain the club’s Team Doctor.

New board

The board has 8 people but will have 9. Kiwanuka as the secretary, Dr. Sam Ssejjaaka, Mr. Robert Aloro, Mr. Aiden Kateregga, Mr. Francis Bbuule, Mr. Moses Banturaki and Mr. Alex Munobe.

The legal committee has Mr. Bernard Owundo and Mrs Katamba. Even the chairman ULS Mr. Kinobe is an Express fan.

In August, the club signed a 1-year partnership with Equity Bank Uganda.

“All our Fans should open accounts at Equity Bank and get the #EquityExpressCard at 50,000/- This will help them access all UPL games at Wankulukuku and do other personal transactions,” the club said.
