First Lady Janet Kataaha Museveni has visited China’s Beijing Fengtai Vocational high school to benchmark against Ugandan vocational schools.
She was in China with President Museveni for the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) with discussions focusing on strengthening China-Africa relations in a win-win format.
At Fengtai, students take a 3-year course while obtaining skills from other disciplines to achieve versatility.

Janet who is also the minister of Education said China’s Education Ministry has agreed to work with Uganda through training vocational schools’ instructors and equipping them with skills to teach others.
“I now look forward to an effective vocational system in Uganda that will produce job creators,” she said.
