Prominent police officer Muhammad Kirumira has been shot in Bulenga with his wife.
NBS journalist Canary Mugume reported that police had confirmed the shooting and Kirumira was being rushed to Rubaga hospital.
His wife and sister-in-law were also injured and have been rushed to hospital by Good Samaritans.
Those who shot him were reportedly riding on a boda boda. They cornered him around Africa petrol station, according to sources.
In April this year, the Police Disciplinary Court recommended the demotion of the former Buyende District Police Commander from the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police [ASP] to Assistant Inspector of Police [AIP].
Kirumira was, however, acquitted of the charges of corruption and neglect of duty citing lack of sufficient evidence to pin.
