NRM Secretary General Rt. Hon. Justine Kasule Lumumba has pledged the government’s commitment to continue protecting its people against any form of insecurity.

She has also urged the public to jealously guard the prevailing peace in order to foster meaningful development within their respective areas.

According to Rogers Mulindwa, Senior Manager Information, Communication & Public Relations (NRM), the SG made the remarks on Thursday evening at two separate campaign rallies in Arua Municipality, West Nile.

She reminded the voters of the government tireless efforts that resulted into the return of peace in the West Nile Region.

“I thank you the people of Arua and West Nile at large for maintaining the restored peace and the NRM government is still strong and well equipped to continue guarding you against any internal or foreign negative forces,” she confidently assured her listeners at Awidiri.

Lumumba observed that the peace ushered into the region by NRM has enabled free movements of people to and from Congo and South Sudan and thence the booming business here.

Support the young woman candidate

In her message SG Lumumba threw in a special request to the youth and the women to support Hon. Nusura Tiperu for effective representation in Parliament. She referred to her as being ‘young but well experienced”.

As a mother, a former youth Legislator and EALA Member of Parliament, Lumumba said Tiperu had enough expertise to debate and generate ideas that will benefit Arua Municipality.

She further added that her party flag bearer was well acquainted with the needs of the young people whom she once ably represented in Parliament.

Nusura Tiperu is the only female candidate in this parliamentary race of eleven people.

Don’t vote opposition

Basing on the government plan to elevate Arua Municipality to a City status, the Secretary General echoed the need to vote an NRM candidate who will mingle up well with the sitting government to deliver the pending promises.

She therefore warned that voting for the opposition or independent candidates would cripple the efforts engineered by the Late Ibrahim Abiriga.

The SG continues with her engagements with the voters in Arua Municipality this Friday.
