The African Emerging Filmmakers Awards [AEFA] is inviting all film makers to submit their films.
The Awards Ceremony will be on the 29th of September 2018, at the Greyville Race Course.
The film submissions’ call out period opens on the 16th of July 2018 until the 12th of September 2018.
Film producers of African origin from all over the continent are invited to submit their films.
Films from any genre can be submitted in a DVD format. The films which are submitted must be clearly marked with: “The Film Title”, “The Producer’s Name” and “The Producer’s Contact Details”.
Categories are as follows:
- Best Actor
- Best Actress
- Best Supporting Actor
- Best Supporting Actress
- Best Film in Vernacular Language
- Best Screen Writer/Story
- Best Director
- Best Editor
- Best Feature Film
- Best Sound
- Best Cinematographer
- Best Student Production
Films that are nominated will be screened in the Ethekwini Film Market [EFM] which will take place on the 28th of September 2018 in Durban.
All members of the public are invited to come and see the films that are locally produced and get a chance to mingle with the directors, producers and actors.
The awards are a growing platform that encourages good quality productions and has seen local emerging film producers witness seeing their films on national television after receiving awards or nominations in these awards.
The film awards’ organisers wish to see more of these films on television in the future.
Films can be either hand delivered -during office hours- or sent via post to Durban Film Office, 41 Margaret Mncadi Avenue, Rennie House, 11th Floor no later than the 12th of September 2018.
