Military on Tuesday surrounded the hotels in which Kyadondo East Member of Parliament Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu aka Bobi Wine and Bugiri Municipality MP candidate, Asuman Basalirwa, were staying in Bugiri town.
Bobi Wine’s team was arrested earlier before police surrounded Planet Hotel to arrest him too.
Police and members of the presidential guard broke into his room and found the bed was well made. A quick search around convinced them he was not in.
They went away and Bobi Wine resumed his sleep.

Since 3:30am, Asuman Basalirwa’s home in Bugiri is under police siege.
Bobi Wine is a key campaigner for Basalirwa’s Parliamentary campaign bid.
“Heavily armed security personnel have surrounded my home and planet hotel where Bobi Wine and Hon Zake Mutebi are residing. They are currently forcing their way into the rooms,” Basalirwa posted on social media.
He said members of his “Basalirwa Task Force” were arrested in the wee hours of Wednesday (3-3.30am) from their respective hotels in Bugiri by a combined Special Forces Command [SFC] and Police squad.
Their whereabouts are unknown.
They include; Alex Waiswa Mufumbiro (Deputy spokesman DP), Tumuhairwe Denis, Ssenyunja Sheriff (Bobi’s PA), Lukwago Ramadhan, Cameraman Tabs (Video photographer for Bobi), Counsel Ukasha Ssekajja, Ssenyange Joseph, Katongole Julius Kim Njuba(Bobi’s aide), Roy Ssembogga (former guild president Makerere), Andrew Natumanya, Sulaiman Kakooza and two ladies whose identities are yet to be verified.
It should be remembered that this is the last day of campaigns. All the candidates are holding their last rallies and Museveni is expected to be in Bugiri to prop up NRM candidate.
“As we post this message, (8.17am) Bugiri is a garrison town, swarming with SFC and Police reinforcement from neighbouring districts,” said the Asuman Basalirwa Task Force.
Last week, Ramanthan Walyendo, a member of Basalirwa’s security detail succumbed to gunshot wounds he sustained during a campaign rally.
