Rwanda President Paul Kagame on Sunday evening received the President Xi Jinping and First Lady Peng Liyuan.

“We wish a warm welcome to President Xi Jinping and First Lady Peng Liyuan. It is a pleasure to host you and further strengthen the already very good ties between our two nations and people,” Kagame tweeted.

Earlier, he held a tête-à-tête and bilateral talks with President Filipe Nyusi of Mozambique who is on a three-day State Visit to Rwanda.

Addressing a joint press conference after their talks, the two leaders highlighted that they have had productive bilateral discussions touching on matters of regional and continental integration.

“It is a pleasure to have President Nyusi here, many things are going to happen between our two countries going forward,” President Kagame said.

The President added that as countries progress, they have to work in unison with others so that they might not develop in isolation.

In his remarks, President Nyusi pointed out that what is important for the two nations is to un-tap resources and use them for the benefits of citizens.
