Mbale court sets July 26 to rule on age limit petitions

The Constitutional Court has scheduled July 26, 2018 for the delivery of Judgment in the ‘Age Limit Petitions’ at the Mbale High Court.

In May, judiciary crossed reports claiming the Constitutional Court sitting in Mbale had given its judgment on the presidential age limit petitions.

A panel of five justices led by Deputy Chief Justice, Alfonse Owiny-Dollo, concluded the high profile consolidated petitions on April 19.

The other justices on the panel are; Remmy Kasule, Elizabeth Musoke, Cheborion Barishaki and Kenneth Kakuru.

Judiciary said as per the usual court practice, all the parties in the petitions shall be notified in advance of the judgment date through their counsel in advance as soon as the court is ready.

In a statement on Friday, judiciary said the judgement will be delivered at 9am.

“Take notice that judgement in the consolidated petitions heard in Mbale is now ready for delivery,” the notice reads.
