The commander police flying squad, ACP Herbert Muhangi, said Mr Singh Patel, Manager of Ssese palm resort beach confessed during interrogations at central police station, Kampala.

Muhangi, while addressing reporters & journalists at CPS, on Monday said the raid was inevitable because they want to curb all illicit activities like sodomy and rebels funded by Sengooba, Dr Kiyingi and their foreign donors.

“By now we are investigating money xpress & UAE money remittance services, our officers raided the venue because we suspected that there should be more foreign money hidden for such illicit activities, Dr Kiyingi & Sengooba, are known to us to be behind funding such illegal activities.”

However, when asked to explain more about about the raid, Muhangi further said everything their police officers did was lawful.

“There was nothing strange about what we did, the law allows us to go to any corners of the country to investigate and stop anything that isn’t in line with the law, the raid wasn’t illegal.”

However, Counsel Kibedi refuted Muhangi’s words by saying that the raid was unlawful because police had no court search warrant, affidavit nor police search certificate as it required by the law.

“A one Kitagenda Abel [a former Wembley, RRU and Flying Squad Operative] showed his warrant card to our manager.”

Muhangi gave an example of their raid at Mr Sengooba’s Lusam INN, Namirembe rd- Rubaga-divison and that of Ms, Florence Birungi’s La Nova hotel, Hobert street Masaka, after detecting transaction of illicit funds to fund sodomy and rebels.

Muhangi said their officers filmed themselves during the raid and refuted allegations of destroying properties belonging to Ssese palm resort beach.
