Museveni SFC bodyguard escapes with 2 guns

A guard attached to the elite Special Forces Command (SFC) unit that protects President Museveni has escaped from Kasenyi barracks in Entebbe.

According to the report, Pte Denis Ogwang Ayo run off with two loaded automatic rifles.

He took away two sub-machine guns loaded with 120 bullets.

Brig Don Nabasa, the SFC commander, told Daily Monitor the soldier was later traced to the eastern Jinja District from where he was arrested.

Pte Ayo is currently being held at the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI) headquarters in Mbuya.

In 2013, over 400 soldiers, among them 37 presidential guards, deserted the army after being deployed as labourers on the Kisozi Ranch.
