Uganda She Cranes suffered a second loss at the on-going 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games in Australia.
Against the world’s third ranked England, the She Cranes battled hard on Sunday morning in a Group B match but lost 55-49 at the Coomera Indoor Sports Centre.
It was a game the She Cranes needed to win if they hopes to qualify for the semi-final stage since England and New Zealand are yet to suffer defeat in any of their game.
Skipper Peace Proscovia who scored over 30 goals against New Zealand and Malawi was this time restricted to 23 goals from 26 attempts, while Racheal Nanyonga netted 22 goals.
Helen Housby top scored for England with 30 goals.
England were top after the first quarter 18-8, but the She Cranes fought back to dominate the second quarter 13-11 and the third quarter 15-13.
The fourth quarter the two teams tied 13-13.
The She Cranes will now wait to battle Wales on Tuesday and complete with the last Group B game against Scotland.
