She Cranes on Saturday made their 54-52 first ever victory over Malawi at the on-going 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.

The Ugandan ladies won their Group B match after losing the opening match to New Zealand with 64-51 result.

Peace Proscovia led the team to a lead at the Coomera Indoor Sporst Centre.

She who scored 34 goals in the defeat to New Zealand and scored 35 goals, while Racheal Nanyonga scored 19 from 21 attempts to overcome Malawi.

Malawi’s Mai Kumwenda was in excellent form scoring 43 goals from 47 attempts.

Uganda She Cranes who are now placed third in Group B will now face second placed England on Sunday.

The Malawi team is ranked sixth in the World, a place above Uganda.

England who are ranked third in the world won all their two games against Scotland and Malawi.
