S.Sudan police chief in Rwanda to tighten ties

South Sudan and Rwanda police chiefs meet

The Inspector General of Police of South Sudan National Police Service, Gen Majak Akec Malok, has arrived at the Rwanda National Police Headquarters for a two-day visit.

He was received by Rwanda National Police IGP EK Gasana.

The visit aims at enhancing cooperation in key policing areas.

Both Chiefs of Police are discussing joint strategic ways of combating cross border and organized crimes, capacity building and responding to emerging security threats though information exchange.

IGP EK Gasana commended the existing good relations between Rwanda and South Sudan particularly the health relationship between RNP and S.Sudan National Police Service.

He said RNP has prioritized among others, regional and bilateral cooperation to join efforts in preventing, detecting and combating transnational crimes and emerging cross border security threats.

Gen Majak on his part said Rwanda and S.Sudan Police forces enjoy a friendly relations and we are both committed to take it to a higher level.

“We are delighted and committed to strengthen bilateral cooperation with RNP for mutual benefits of our people,” Gen Majak noted.
