ACP Namuwoza [L] has assumed his new office

ACP. Denis Namuwoza has assumed the office of the Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police Commander.

He is now the official deputy of KMP commander, CP Frank Mwesigwa.

This comes in after a mega police transfer message that saw SSP. Emitu Ezekiel Ebapu being deployed as the new RPC Aswa Region.

Namuwoza, in his maiden speech, promised intensified operations to clean up and stabilise Kampala and its surroundings.

Last week, he launched sting operations against the famous ‘kifeesi’ criminals terrorising and disorganising the public during business hours.

This came after various complaints of bag and phone snatching, drug abuse, simple robberies around the City and during traffic rush hour times.

Still serving as the Kampala Metropolitan South Commander, Namuwoza assisted by crime preventers swept areas of Katwe, Mini Price, Ben Kiwanuka, Market Street, Clock Tower Nakivubo Channel, Makindye, Salaama, Kibuye, Kabalagala and Ndejje.

He gathered over 300 suspects including those on police watch list.
