Police in Kasese district arrested two suspected Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) rebels at Mpondwe border town with Congo.
Rwenzori East Regional Police Commander, Ceaser Julius Tusingwire, referred them to Kampala for further interrogation.
The suspects who were operating in eastern Congo are said to hail from Busoga in eastern Uganda.
ADF rebels who recently killed Tanzanians in Congo are now on Great Lakes Region security mechanism’s watch list.
They are responsible for mutilations, kidnappings as well as assassinations.
In December last year, UPDF launched joint operations with Congo army killing hundreds of the rebels and destroying their bases.
