Ndugutse sent to Nairobi, Byakagaba named counter terrorism boss

New Inspector General of Police Martins Okoth Ochola has appointed the Director Counter Terrorism John Ndugutse as the police attaché to the Uganda’s High Commission in Nairobi, Kenya.

Ndugutse was replaced by Abbas Byakagaba, who has been the Director Oil and Gas.

Byakagaba was the former Head of the Police Counter Terrorism Unit and now returns to the same unit.

Last year, former IGP Kale Kayihura appointed Byakagaba to replace the late Andrew Felix Kaweesi as Director of Human resource.

The position became vacant following the assassination of AIGP Kaweesi who also served as the police spokesperson.

Byakagaba had been serving as the commandant Senior Police Staff College in Bwebajja, Entebbe road.

Ochola, the boss now, was serving as the Deputy Inspector General of Police.
