John Atalyebwa Amooti, a tycoon from Tooro who made his money from tea estates, has passed on.
Atalyebwa was the owner of the famous ATACO Country Resort in Fort Portal and ATACO Freight Services Limited.
He succumbed to hypertension at Nsambya Hospital on Tuesday.
His brother, Moses Ajuna, told Uganda Radio Network that Atalyebwa has been battling Hypertension for more than three years.
He developed breathing complications when he arrived at his home in Kampala after Christmas and was rushed to Nsambya hospital where he was admitted.
During the 1994 World Cup, Atalyebwa was among the few people who owned Satellite Dishes in Fort Portal town.
Other tycoons in his class included the Late Lucky Patrick, the proprietor Kalita Bus Transporters Limited and the late Crescent Baguma.
