Makerere has set dates for graduation

Makerere University has released the final graduation list of more than 13,000 students slated to graduate during the university’s forth coming graduation ceremony next week.

According to the university vice chancellor, Prof. Barnabas Nawangwe‏, the 68th Graduation will get underway on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 for CONAS, CAES, CEES students.

On Wednesday, January 17, 2018 will be CHS, COVAB, COCIS, COBAMS and Thursday, January 18, 2018 will be for MUBS students.

On Friday, January 19, 2018, students of SoL, CEDAT, CHUSS will also graduate.

The University cleared the graduation of over 4000 students from its affiliate college of Makerere university business school (MUBS) after the two institutions managed to resolve their disagreements over functional fees.

Nawangwe had threatened to block the graduation of more than 4000 MUBS students over the institution’s failure to submit more than Shs6.2b in functional fees to Makerere University over a four-year period.

MUBS Principal Prof. Wasswa Balunya told KFM radio he agreed to remit the fees for the 4000 students to Makerere University saying they had negotiations with Makerere management and ministry of education to have their students graduate as the institution clears their fees.
