
The husband of Trade Minister Amelia Kyambadde has been released from Luzira prison.
Wilson Kyambadde spent six months in Luzira civil prison having been imprisoned for failure to pay a debt of over Shs1.1bn.
He was on July 10, 2017 committed to civil prison for failure to refund Shs1.1b to a city businessman, Amdan Khan.
Kyambadde was taken to the Civil Division of the High Court, where he had since 2013 failed to appear in person, and the Deputy Registrar in-charge of execution matters, Ms Flavia Nassuna Matovu committed him to service six months in civil prison.
Moses Kirunda, a court bailiff, told Daily Monitor Kyambadde was released from Luzira civil prison after finishing his first sentence.
Kirunda expects to get his bailiff fees of about Shs37m.
