Angella Katatumba

The year begun on a horribly sad note for the Singer and diplomat following the sudden and traggic passing of her father, H.E Prof. Boney Mwebesa Katatumba who was the Honorary Consul of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Uganda.

In September this year, the gorgeous ‘Mulago Yaffe’ singer held sold out shows at her European music tour where she was invited to perform for the Kenyan Community in Austria and Switzerland.

Later, information came in from the headquarters of the International African Women’s Development Fund Accra Ghana, and it was comfirmed that Angella Katatumba was ranked among the top 13 most inspirational women in Africa, making her rub shoulders with Yvonne Chaka Chaka (South Africa), Abena Amoah (Ghana), Anna Mokgokong (South Africa), Beverly Nambozo, Bisi Adeleye-Fayemi, Bingo Sibongile Mkhabela (South Africa), Folorunso Alakija ( Nigeria), Lina Zedriga, Sasae Mpuchane (Botswana), Nabagereka Sylivia Naginda (Uganda), Princess Umul Hatiyya Ibrahim Mahama (Ghana) and Sitawa Wafula (Kenya).

On 17th November, 2017 The Chief Magistrate Makindye Court, His worship Kakooza Elias threw out (struck out) Mukesh Shukla alias Shumuk’s case in seeking for vacant possession of Hotel Diplomate and rewarded costs to the respondent Angella Katatumba.

The lastest being *Star Fashion magazine* that has commended her beauty, outstanding voice and stance in philanthropy work that have been recognized by the UN World Humanitarian Summit, African Union and many other International Agencies.

The United Nations recognised singer, has through her music, created so much awareness for causes like ‘For You Gulu’, ‘Let’s Go Green’ and has personally donated 25 million UGX cash through AKDF, so far to the Uganda Cancer Institute at Mulago hospital.

AKDF also recently partnered with the Diplomatic Corps spearheaded by the Dean H.E Maj. Gen Okanga for a Black Tie dinner in November 2016, where 185M UGX was raised and donated to the Uganda Cancer Institute of which Angella is the face.

Angella has consistently kept her humanitarian work successful and active by changing the welfare of natives lives in Uganda and across the continent.

She indeed deserves this recognition in 2017 and many more.
