Family to sue police, army over kidnapped businessman

Johnson Nuunu

The family of missing Ntungamo businessman, Johnson Nuunu, has given government an ultimatum to find or produce him if they are holding him.

Residents of Rubaare Sub County in Ntungamo were left in shock last week after one of their colleagues, Nuunu, was kidnapped by unidentified people and whisked away to an unknown destination.

His family contacted police for help to find Nuunu who was whisked away from Rubaare trading centre.

Police spokesperson, Emilian Kayima, told NTV that they have started crosschecking with the army to find out if they are the ones holding Nuunu.

Kayima said the businessman also father of 17 children is not in their custody.

He promised that police would liaise with Uganda People’s Defence Forces [UPDF] to establish whether he is in their custody.

The family warned that if police or the military kidnapped Nuunu, they will take matters to courts of law.
