Police picks 70 thugs in city operation ‘Nyoosha Njia’

Police arrests 70 city thugs

This operation according to Kampala Metropolitan Police Commander CP. Frank Mwesigwa is aimed at leaving no stone unturned in relation to criminality during these Christmas Festive Season days.

This joint operation by Police and Crime Preventers was mainly aimed at wiping out criminals that lay in wait around arcades like JASCO, Arua Park Arcade, Mutasa Kafeero Arcade, also the most unapproachable dark spots areas of Kinyamwandu Lane, Nabugabo Bar, Ben Kiwanuka Lane, Market Street Lane and Nakivubo.

Police arrested over 70 thugs most of whom were found smoking opium, others in areas commonly known for harbouring criminals.

“We believe these people arrested from the dark spots of the city could be part of the syndicate terrorising the peace of innocent Ugandans as they shop and transact their businesses daily,” DPC. CPS Kampala ASP. Bakaleke Joseph said.

He added: “We thank the crime preventers for always giving us a helping hand and providing us with spot on information.”
