Former Buikwe South Member of Parliament Lulume Bayiga is expected at Grade One Magistrate’s Court in Lugazi for a bail application.
He was charged with three offences and remanded to Luzira prison by the same court last week.
Bayiga was arrested at Ngogwe Sub-county headquarters and charged with three offenses including charges of assault, malicious damage and conspiracy to commit felony.
When he was produced in court on Friday, the magistrate who had previously heard his case wasn’t around.
The presiding magistrate, Mr George Obong couldn’t preside over a case to hear his bail because he wasn’t familiar with the case.
According to the charge sheet, he and others on November 29 at Kigaya Village in Najja Sub-county, Buikwe District, broke into Musa Katerega’s house and destroyed his property.
He is also accused of beating a police officer, Andrew Egesa.
Bayiga through his lawyer, Aggrey Mushagara, denied the allegations.
