EAC games: Nsereko shines as Uganda MPs beat Kenya, Burundi, win gold medals

MP Nsereko has so far scored five goals

The East African Community Parliament Games are underway in The Tanzanian capital Dar es Saalam.

On Sunday, Ugandan female parliamentarians on the ladies team consisting of Hons. Suubi Kinyamatama, Anna Adeke, Olive Koyekyenga and Babirye Kabanda won gold in the 4×100 relays.

Hon. Julius Acon also won gold in the 1500 metres at the Dar es Salaam National Stadium where the games started.

Uganda parliament football team walloped Kenya seven goals to nil [7-0].

Two goals were scored by Hon Peter Ogwang, and one each from Hon Brian Arinaitwe and Hon Muhammad Nsereko in the 8th Inter-Parliamentary Games.

The Kampala Central MP Nsereko completed his hattrick for the Parliament of Uganda in the second half.

MP Nsereko at the start of the week raised his goal tally to five, scoring two against Burundi in EAC Inter Parliamentary Games.

Brian Arinaitwe scored the other bringing the total to 3-1.

Parliament of Uganda plays Tanzania in both netball and volleyball today.

The Uganda parliament soccer team is captained by Hamson Obua, Ajuri County MP.

In other games, Tanzania beat Burundi 3-2 as Uganda netball team led by Sarah Kityo Kabanda (Central Youth MP) beat Kenyan counterparts by 44-11.

The East Africa Inter-parliamentary Games kicked off on December 1 and end on December 11.
