The Police in Moyo are working hand in hand with relevant authorities to retrieve the trailer that fell into River Nile.
The trailer, loaded with logs, went off the ferry and plunged into River Nile at Laropi in Moyo District on Monday.
Police said investigations are under way to establish the circumstances that led to the incident.
In July this year, three people including a driver, turn man and a passenger were reported dead after the vehicle they were travelling in plunged into the Nile river at Karuma Bridge in Kiryandongo District.
A Tata lorry registration number UAW 356, laden with dried cassava was reportedly travelling from Paidah town in Nebbi District heading to Hoima District when the driver lost control and plunged into the river.
Police identified the victims as Baraza Nelson, the driver; Arafat Farid, the turn man and Abonyang Ibrahim, the passenger who had hired the vehicle.
In February this year, a lorry laden with cotton seeds from neighbouring Democratic Republic of Congo plunged into Karuma Falls in Kiryandongo district.
In 2000, a gateway bus plunged into the River Nile waters at the Karuma Bridge, killing at least 11 people.
