BET award winner and Ugandan star musician, Eddy Kenzo, lifted two awards at the Sunday All Africa Music Awards [AFRIMA] held at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos Nigeria.
Multichoice was broadcasting the All Africa Music Awards live on DStv and GOtv on 10-12 November.
The All African Music Awards (AFRIMA) is one of the biggest music awards in Africa with participation of over 700 artistes across the continent were co-hosted by multi-award winning artist and composer, Akon and one of Cameroon’s biggest entertainment personality and host Sophy.
Eddy Kenzo (Uganda), Davido (Nigeria), Fally Ipupa (DRC) were nominated in the Artiste of the Year Category.
Kenzo won the Best Male Artiste in East Africa and Best Album [Song of the Year in Africa] which he said shows how great God is and how He works in ways no one can see.
“Hello my fans and Africa at large, from the bottom of my heart I wanna thank you so much for being part of this greatest success. I have had sleepless nights hustling tirelessly to make sure we go an extra mile every time,” Kenzo said on social media.
“This is not for me alone but for mother Uganda, East Africa and Africa generally. To all my fellow East African artists, let’s work so hard to get more of these for our continent.”
He added: “Stick to your gun, keep your heads up, look up to God who is the giver of everything am sure you can do far better than me. Thank you Afrima, thank you my lovely fans for making a historical impact for East Africa may God bless you so much. Thank you Afrimawards.”
