A group of NRM supporters armed with sticks in Bushenyi district led an assault on a group of people who were wearing in red ribbon bandanas on their head.
The fist fight between supporters of the age limit bill and those opposed to it were led by Mohamed Lukwago, the NRM chairman Bushenyi-Ishaka municipality and Rozio Nshemereirwe, the chairman for Ishaka division.
Police working on orders of RPC Greater Bushenyi, Eddie Serunjogi, intervened and confiscated a bunch of sticks and took them away.
A number of boda boda cyclists in the town were seen putting on yellow ribbons while some donned red as a sign that they don’t support plans to remove age limit from the constitution of Uganda.
There was also a high turn up at the Bushenyi district headquarters on Wednesday where Igara West MP Raphael Magyezi held a consultative meeting on his age limit bill.
He was escorted by Bushenyi-Ishaka Municipality Arinda Gordon aka cowboy and Ishaka woman MP Mary Karooro Okurut.
Unconfirmed reports have been circulating on social media claiming Magyezi’s home-coming would cost billions of cash.
He reportedly bought kilogrammes of meat and rice which were distributed to the voters on top of millions of money before his homecoming, claims we could not verify.
