Six students of Kampala International University have died in a road accident along Kampala-Gulu highway.
The incident happened Saturday in Nakasongola town claiming students who belonged to the Banyarwanda association.
Asiimwe Abdulwahab Hab who reported his friends’ death identified the deceased as Frank Ngarambi, the president of BASA (Banyarwanda Students Association) Kwizera Vincent, Fred Kasasira and others.
Another student, Molly Kyakuhaire, says the deceased were coming from a party when the commuter taxi they were traveling in rammed into another taxi heading the opposite direction.
“My fellow students from Kampala international university have been involved in an accident this evening, this happened along Kampala-Gulu highway in Nakasongola District, Kakooge Town,” Kyakuhaire said on her Facebook page.
She added: “Seven have been confirmed dead and others with injuries have been rushed to a hospital in Luweero town, most of these students belonged to the Banyrwanda association, the president of the association didn’t survive death either.”
