Police in Kampala on Friday blocked Muwanga Kivumbi, the Butambala County Member of Parliament from holding a consultative meeting in Katwe, a Kampala suburb.

Kivumbi had planned to consult residents in Katwe, Makindye division, Nsambya and Ndeeba areas on the proposed constitutional amendment bill seeking to scrap the age limit for presidential candidates.

However, police commanded by Katwe Police station chief Frantile Lwamusai raided Muganzirwazza Mall in Katwe where Kivumbi was meeting residents and dispersed them.

Lwamusai claims Kivumbi never asked police permission to hold the rally.
