The Pornography Control Committee has summoned Kampala Capital City Authority [KCCA] officials for staging ‘pornographic scenes’ during the just concluded Kampala City Festival.

Dr Annette Kezaabu Kasimbazi the Pornography Control Committee chairperson, has written to the KCCA executive director, Jennifer Musisi, citing half-naked dancers who staged pornographic performances.

In a letter dated October 6, Kezaabu says some revellers/merrymakers engaged in pornographic displays, calling upon Musisi to find a solution to the trend that exposes children to pornography.

But KCCA spokesperson, Peter Kaujju, in response told Ugadna Radio Network [URN] that the city authority gave strict instructions to the police not to allow skimpily dressed people into the carnival.

He said one or two skimpily dressed girls could have sneaked into the carnival.

The committee instituted by Ethics and Integrity minister, Simon Lokodo, is supposed to ensure the early detection and prohibition of pornography, ensure that the perpetrators of pornography are apprehended and prosecuted, collect and destroy pornographic objects or materials with the assistance of the police.
