Court of Appeal Friday dismissed a petition by Democratic Party’s Nsereko Wakayima Musoke who lost his seat as Nansana Municipality MP.
Musoke who was elected in the February 18, 2016 general elections was kicked out of parliament by a High Court ruling the same year.
Justice Vincent Okwanga declared NRM’s Kasule Robert Sebunya as the duly elected Nansana Municipality MP.
Musoke rushed to the Nakasero based Court of Appeal to protest the ruling.
On Friday, the same court dismissed his petition on grounds that he is not a registered voter and never qualified for nomination and election as Nansana Municipality.
The court ruled that Musoke was nominated in error as his name is not registered in the constituency’s voter register.
It was the name of Musoke Hannington Nsereko which validly appears on the National Identification card.
“I find that the purported change of names is null and void,” said the ruling.
