A suspect wanted for the murder of the Chinese female national in Mukono has been arrested.
The suspect identified as Fred Katukaya stole the star pistol on 30th August 2017 from a Saracen guard at a flower farm in Namayuba, Nakisunga.
He was tracked down and arrested from Banda at a washing bay.
Upon examination, out of 10 bullets 4 were used. He confessed to have shot the lady because she tried to fight him.
He maintained that he never intended to kill.
This arrest posed so many questions regarding the expertise used by the flying squad officers in apprehension of these culprits.
When contacted, Commandant Flying Squad ACP. Muhangi Herbert stressed that flying squad uses different tactics in fighting violent and organised crimes.
“We often use human Intel, technical Intel and subject it to thorough analysis,” he said.
Flying squad operates based on high level security intel. It’s out of this that police maps out blackspots and criminal watch lists.
These watch lists include armed robbers, kidnappers, vehicle thefts, conmen and land fraudsters.
