Azam league: URA collects 2 ‘taxes’ from UPDF

Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) football club defeated UPDF 2-1 on Wednesday at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.

This was during the continuation of match day one for the Azam Uganda Premier League.

Fred Okot and Labama Bokota scored for the tax collectors’ side while Walter Lubangkene got the consolation for UPDF.

This was only the second victory of match day one game following Sports Club Villa Jogoo’s 1-0 over visiting Soana at the Masaka Recreational Stadium on Tuesday.

Second half substitute Vitalis Tabu scored the only goal on the day in the 72nd minute of the game moments after replacing Allan Kyambadde.

The other ended in goal-less draws.

Meanwhile, the league returns on Friday.

Vipers host Bul at the St Mary’s Stadium in Kitende and Soana will play Bright Stars at Kavumba Recreational Stadium.
