FUFA is mourning the death of former Uganda Cranes International Mathew Lucha which occurred on Friday night 8th September, 2017.
Lucha played for the National senior football team-Uganda Cranes in the 80s.
“We have received the sad news of the loss of Mathew Lucha. The sport has been hit by tough times this year where we have lost our beloved active and former football players, administrators and fans,” said FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo.
He added: “Lucha was an integral part during his playing days for his clubs and Uganda Cranes. Even when he ventured into coaching, he left an impact. Football will miss Lucha.”
Lucha’s death came after the passing of another legend Kefa Kiwanuka, 94, who died last month.
Kefa was part of the first Uganda Cranes side that toured the United Kingdom in 1958.
