Parliament on Friday vetted the newly appointed Deputy Chief Justice, Alphonse Owiny-Dollo, who replaced Justice Steven Kavuma.

Kavuma will officially retire this September. He will be 70 years old.

Dollo was vetted by the Parliament’s Appointments Committee chaired by deputy speaker, Rt Hon Jacob Oulanyah.

Oulanyah chaired the session

Justice Dollo was in charge of the 2010 Kyadondo Terrorism case in which 7 were convicted, among other high profile cases.

Parliament’s Appointments Committee also approved Justices Richard Butera and Paul Mugamba as new Supreme Court judges, as appointed by President Yoweri Museveni last month.
