Gulu club staff arrested after reveller is stabbed to death

A construction worker was on Tuesday stabbed in a bar brawl that led to his death in Gulu town.

The deceased, Ssali Wasswa, a resident of Kamuli District, is an employee of Zongmei Construction, a Chinese Company.

Wasswa succumbed to injuries at Gulu Regional Referral Hospital on Wednesday after being stabbed in the back during a fight in Buganda Pub.

According to Martin Okoyo, the Gulu District Police Commander, the suspect fled the crime scene and is still on the run.

Four employees of the night club were arrested on charges of criminal negligence.

While operating under the name Opit Travellers’ Inn and Discotheque, the same bar in 2002, was raided by gunmen who shot partiers.
