Police has arrested a man suspected to have killed a woman in Nyanama Katwe Police Division on Monday.
The woman aged 20 years was strangled, according to police spokesperson, Asan Kasingye.
On Tuesday, Nakaseke Police Station received information that there was someone suspected to have killed the said woman and was hiding at a shrine in Sakabusolo village Kyaka LC1 Kasangombe Sub County in Nakaseke district.
Police dispatched a team of officers who apprehended the suspect.
After interrogation, the suspect was identified as Charles Kato, a mechanic at Lwadda B village in Matugga, who was living together with the deceased known as Maria Nabilawa.
The pair had two children and had developed a misunderstanding over land.
The deceased opted out of the relationship and hired a room at Masters Inn in Namasuba.
Kato is now detained at Katwe Police Station in connection with the murder of the wife.
This becomes the 20th woman killed in Wakiso and Kampala districts in a matter of weeks.
Police has so far arrested 30 people in connection with the murders of women in Nansana and Entebbe municipalities.
Kasingye said 12 of the victims have been classified as cases of sexual assault, four cases of domestic violence, one was killed by two brothers in what the police have classified as a revenge killing, and the rest seemed to be ritual murders.
