On Friday 1st September, Buganda crowned their 2017 Miss Tourism queens.
Nakasige Maria from Kyaggwe county was crowned Miss Buganda 2017, Nakayondo Rosette from Buddu came first runner up and Nakabugo Beatrice from Busiro second runner up.
Nakasige was crowned by the Nabagereka of Buganda, Sylvia Nagginda, who also presented to her a special gift from Buganda Tourism Board.
Maria Nakasige, a graduate of Information Technology, was announced by Buganda’s Deputy Minister of tourism, Rita Namyalo Kisitu, during the kingdom’s annual tourism exhibition at Lubiri Palace Grounds.
Teso crowns Amuge
Teso region earlier crowned its Miss Tourism Teso 2017 Amuge Getrude Olungura, 20, from Soroti district.
First Runner up was Aduto Sharon, 24, from Soroti district while the second runner up was Aanyu Jessica Sheila, 20, from Kumi district.
The event sponsored by Radiant and Strikers hotel Soroti was a tribute to the late Tourism minister Hon Dr Maria Mutagamba.
The guest of Honour was the Hon Godfrey Kiwanda Suubi, Minister of State for Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities.
Other Various important dignitaries included; Hon Onapito Ekomoloit (Onas) Corporate and Regulatory Affairs Manager -Nile Breweries, Hon Cosmas Elotu – MP Dakabella County and Hon Rachel Adyango – NRM Flag bearer Soroti District, among others.
